Onto more serious matters, I got to talk with my mother after a week. I didn't want to clash head on with her again on the phone so I opted to keep quiet and just listen. As usual, the pressure's on me but somehow I was able to convince her to try out other options about their conditions in far away California.
As the pressure mounts, it becomes more unbearable. If only it's that easy to
pack my stuff in an Eagle Creek luggage and fly, I would have already done that. But again, it's not that easy.
I am hopeful and praying that things will go according to plan and that time won't be too hard on us. I have suggested things that we can do about the situation but I don't feel that Mom's for it.
Anyway, I enjoyed the long weekend though it could be longer and better (I wish!). I got to watch my first live baseball game on TV (Yankees vs Phillies) for the World Series and I realized it wasn't that bad after all. I watched Game 4 on TV as well but on both times they lost. Could it be that I jinxed them? LOL!
This was DS's gift for my birthday - an abstract painting. I don't really know how to call it but I know this is something good. I'm proud that he knows how to do this. Drawing is my waterloo. I can never draw as much as I can never dance. My DS is just too sweet! I appreciate anything that came from him.
I finally got to do some girly stuff and shopped for some toiletries at my favorite shop. It was fun while it lasted :) Today, I had my nails painted red, my hair cut short and treated and a wonderful foot spa with pedicure to relax my tired legs and feet.
And to cap this entry, I'm leaving you with a brief conversation I had with my Dad:
Me: (Thinking out loud and asking myself) What am I going to wear tomorrow?
Papa: That's the problem if you have too many clothes to wear. If you didn't have that much, you won't be worrying about that.
Me: I'm just soooooo like you, Pa! You have the same problem each and every single day, too, right?
Papa: Hay naku! Binalik mo na naman sa 'kin yung sinabi ko. Bahala ka nga!
And then I burst into laughter.
Enjoy the rest of the week.
