I do not want to divulge the details as to why this legal action is being pursued by the student. During that 1-hour meeting, I learned a lot of things and opinions were formed in my head. And then Ally McBeal came into the picture again. She reminded me of most plaintiffs in the series - they would like to sue even if the merits aren't that strong.
Years back, I experienced going to court to fight for what was right. The case was decided in my favor. I was happy with the decision but I had to adapt to some drastic changes in my life to put it back in order. I also knew that someone would be suffering pretty bad from it. The person's long gone in my life but the memories will always be there. There were a lot of lessons learned from the experience that made me a better person than I was some 13 years ago. If only for that, I am grateful I went through with it. Otherwise, how I wish we were just able to settle the issue amicably.
Sometimes, legalities wouldn't really mend what was broken. There are times, when it could make matters worse. Let karma take its course or better yet, let us be reminded that a greater being is out there looking at everything we're doing. Let Him be the judge.
